Day of Prayer and Fasting

Tomorrow is the worship service for our Day of Prayer and Fasting, but today is the preparation. It is the first implementation step in our Matthew 28 process - getting right with each other and with God as we embark on the mission God gives us. During the prayer vigil this afternoon and evening, I took some time to read further in Augustine's Confessions:

Perhaps I am deceived. Within me are those lamentable dark areas wherein my own capacities lie hidden from me. . . . No man should be sure whether one who can pass from worse to better might not also pass from better to worse. One hope, one trust, one firm promise - your mercy! (10.32.48)
